Is there any way to apply motion blur to the particles created w/ the tornado axp? Motion blur works fine w/ respect to the box's motion but not the actual particles' cyclonic rotation. I know I could rotate the box but…

Try scene motion blur. It's expensive but…. Tim Blur Studio

I have camera motion also; guess I could render w/o backgrnd & then VP the tornado. >> It's expensive but….<< I may try this depending on how expensive. Thanks Tim.

Do you want the motion blur to go the opposite direction as the particles? If yes try animating the tornado first then render the scene again with the tornado in reverse with motion blur Comp the two scenes together using alpha channel. Mike White [SDP]

I ended up actually animating/spinning the box while setting the AXP tornado periods to very high values. This gave me a tornado that didn't spin because of the AXP but because of the box rotation; motion blur worked well on the particles. I'm now moving on to a mapped cone affected by Bones. Thanks for the reply.
