This is to formally announce that here at Autodesk we are hard at work to update the current shipping version of Animator Studio. The work we are doing will allow the current 16 bit application to install and run under Win 95 and Win NT. This upgrade will be available free of charge to all registered users. Also available for free will be the B&W printout of the online help system to any registered user that requests it. If you sent us money to get this printout, we'll send you the manual and your money back as well.

Excellent news Mark! I just received my copy of Animator Studio and am sending in my registration even as we speak. However, I am wondering not so much about Win95 and Win NT capability (not yet, anyway..) but about just plain bug fixes for 16 bit Windows. (Unlike some 400,000 other soles, I didn't feel the need to send MS $30.00 for the priviledge of find their bugs for them.. 😉 Will the new upgrade contain any signficant bug fixes for the 16 bit version? Dale, I can answer this one-YES! While the update will allow for Win95 and WinNT compatability, it will also fix many bugs. Jh

>> Also available for free will be the B&W printout of the online help >> system to any registered user that requests it. Great! Should the request be through a local dealer or are you accepting these online? JDH

Mark – Registered my copy of Animator Studio and am requesting a copy of the printed manual. I'll go plant a tree today to make up for it. Anne

I finally saw a manual yesterday – they have the "wrong" cover but are almost out the door! Mark should have your order fulfilled with the 2nd print run.

Pierre, It's probably a good idea to send Mark a "Via Mail" message so that it is not public, and give him the info he needs (Serial Number, name and address and a phone number too). I've pointed out your message to him. Thanks.

Hallo Nik. Here is a question from Germany. Is there a possibility to order Animator Studio direct from the USA ? They say over here that it could be a long time before you can buy it here. From the information I got, it sounds quit interesting. Johnny W in Duesseldorf.

"Is there a possibility to order Animator Studio direct from the USA ?" There is a policy in place for our products that we can't ship US products to Germany, etc. I believe that we are working on a build of AAStudio that will be the basis for the "foreign" builds, although quite a bit of translating work has already been started. I'm pleased that you're feeling so excited by the product; I'm sorry that you can't get a copy of the US version. If you have further questions you can talk to our customer service department at 707/794-1450. Thanks.

Hi Nik, Do the shipping restrictions you mention for Germany also apply to the UK? We've been waiting patiently for a long time but nothing's turned up. Thanks, Andy Roberts BITS Corp

Hi Andy, I can't recall answering you – at least, I don't see that I've answered. You'd asked about AAStudio, "Do the shipping restrictions you mention for Germany also apply to the UK?" Yes. Thanks for your patience.

Hey Nik, Thanks for the reply – since that mail I actually received my package, so no worries! Cheers, Andy Roberts BITS Corp.
