#AS and MOV format?

I've been trying to convert some of my AVI files to MOV files using AS. It
seems that AS would be able to handle this with no problem (seeing it's listed
as one of the file formats it supports). But I'm getting no success. First of
all, it comes up with a warning message about not being able to save some of
the data (whatever it means).. second, when I go to try to play the MOV file it
created, it hangs the system..
Any ideas?

p.s. if Animator Studio cannot do it, what can I get a hold of that CAN do it?
Well,
The warning message you're getting is that Animator Studio is unable to save
certain channels of information becuase it's not supported by the QuickTime
format. (If it's a work in progress, I'd recommend saving to an .AVI since it
can save all channels of information).
When you say, playing the file back, in which player are you doing this? (media
player, Animator Studio's player, another?) I've been able to play back .MOV
files created with Animator Studio OK. Let's try to narrow this one down a bit.

I've been trying to playback in both the MediaPlayer and Animator
Studio's Player. Basically, the player cannot even seem to LOAD the
MOV file. I select the MOV file from the File/Open and then it goes
into HourGlass mode and hangs there. I have to CTRL-ALT-DELETE at
this point. I don't know how much more specific I can get. It
doesn't even load.. I don't see the first frame or anything.. it just
sits there. Is it clear enough now?

I'll leave this one to Nik since he's got the released version of Animator
Studio on his machine.

BTW-I just tried saving ABOUT.AVI as a .MOV file. It worked fine except the
audio was a bit messed up. It played in the Animator Player-haven't tried it in
media player. I didn't use any special codecs when saving.

Page 89 (written manual, <Grin>) talks about the data that you can't save.
Hanging the system? Sorry you're having the problem. One thing might be to
try a clean boot:
CONFIG.SYS
DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
FILES=40
BUFFERS=-20
No Autoexec.bat
Check your disk with CHKDSK /F.
Try running Windows, do your Quicktime thing.
