Oh clint, you disapoint me I think my idea was much more fun <Grin> I mean all you need is a gigantic X-Ray laser say about a mile long, a propulson unit to move it and a highly acurate control system with probably a large fusion reactor to pwer it. Then ther's the ancilllary equipment, a few hundred cloud condensers, a number of atmospheric conditioners, say a number of aircraft to drop plant seeds, and a couple of basic DNA lifeforms, and there you go !….. Fame and fortune at last …….. Just think of all those people whod be eternaly grateful to you for providing them with a new planet complete with new materials to exploit and a new ozone layer to ruin !….. <VBG> I mean its not as if you need much to get started, say 500 Billion Dollars should do for basic finacing…… Small change to someone with your skills I'm sure <VVVBG> Best Wishes david

David: That's version 2.0. I can't give people everything first time around, can I? I'm having a little problem finding suppliers for mile long lasers in the quantity that I need and I can't get confirmed shipping dates on the fusion reactors. I guess people will have to settle for using a mouse for the time being. The DNA lifeforms will be no problem, there are plenty growing in my refrigerator at the moment. <grin> Once I get the mile long laser, getting $500 billion should be no problem. <evil grin> Clint <VRLI><Chaocity>

Ah Clint, Why didnt you say you needed the X-Ray laser component, I have two sitting in bits in my lab just at the moment, Of course I have the same powersource problem as yourself, anyone out there got any spare fussion reactors <evil laugh> , the only other problem is getting the blasted things into orbit, still I NASA is looking for sources of funding for future projects, what do you think Clint, would they go for it <Sly Grin> I figure if they will put the stuff in orbit we could give them a 15% rakeoff from the profits ! I mean how much do you think a freshly terraformed planet would go for ?…… Oh yeah the climate conertrs are a breeze (pun intended) to produce in comparrison to the orbiting satalite laser system !…… Looking forward to hearing from you again <Grin> david

David – Forget trying to get those archaic fusion reactors into orbit! I've just closd a sweet deal on some slightly-used mini black holes, and they're already in space. Drop some rocks into these puppies, and soak off the energy when as the matter passes thru the event horizon! They're as compact an energy source as you are going find (after all, what's smaller than a singularity!)

Easily done since the tidal effects due to the gravitational attraction of the singularity are microscopic in scope. Of course, there is still the problem of overcoming several gigatons of inertia . . . mmmm!!!???

Dennis, yeah for anyone around who doesn't know what that translates to, Take one small Iron object and add the sorts of inertia dennis is talking about, then direct it towards the nearest planet …….. bye bye planet !….. On the other hand if you can sort out these minor problems they would make a potentialy terrific energy source . <BG> David

Clint, Of course why didn't I think of him ! this sort of project should just be petty cash to him <Grin>, now how do you suppose he should be approached ? Oh yes purely as an asside, whilst the assembled laser needs to be about a mile long, unassembled the components should fit in a shuttle bay, anyone out there fancy building a giantconstruction kit ?……… best wishes David
