#RENAMING OBJECTS-SKIN
7 messages in this thread
I have the skin routine and version Studio 3d 3.00. I am dealing with a large
number of slices and wondered if there was an easier way to renumber the each
object. It would save me a ton of R&D time.
You can do this with the script extensions (and I think there's even a script
up here in the forum that'll do it for ya).

Select all the objects and use Create/Element/Explode with a 180 degree
threshold. That will bust all the elements into sequentially named objects.

not sure if that would work for skin.

It's actually Jamie Clay's tip, and yes it does work very well for renaming
skin slices.
The idea is that you have sliced an object and received far too many slices. You
delete the ones you don't want but are now left the tedium of renaming all the
slices so they're consecutively numbered. Explode works like a charm because it
progresses through the selection in creation order. Presto – renumbered slices
in one stroke.

I stand corrected. Good tip!

Thats a great tip Phil, (and/or Jamie if your listening).
