#RGB -> CMYK Problem

We did some sample renderings for a potential customer, and saved the files in both TGA anf TIF format. When opened in default RGB format in Photoshop, they look fine on the screen, but when converted to CMYK format, the colors are really screwed up, and they can't get a correct print when it's been converted to CMYK. Anyone have any idea how I can make this customer happy enough to purchase 3D Studio? He says it only happens with 3DS files that are converted. TIA John

There are many RGB colors that just won't convert to CYMK (and vice versa). You may need to adjust your rendering to achieve CYMK "legal" colors. – Dave

I bring 3DS compressed TGA files into Photoshop 3.01 and convert them to CMYK usually with verrrrry little colour differences…. – Peter
