I currently have Animator Studio installed on my system here. I've also just recently installed Adobe Premiere 1.0 for Windows on the same system. I cannot seem to load up Premiere and I've narrowed the problem down to the AASC.DRV and AAS24C.DRV files that were installed with Animator Studio (I assume). As Premiere is loading up, I get a GPF error and from the message on the screen it appeared to be coming from the AASC.DRV and AAS24C.DRV files.. after commenting those lines out of the system.ini, Premiere loads fine.. what are those two files used for? And has anyone else been experiencing this problem with Adobe Premiere and those AS drivers? As I said, Premiere _loads_ fine but it is not able to load any AVI files.. (I guess those files obviously have something to do with AVI drivers too?).. Anyhow, that's the whole reason why I'm using Premiere .. is to use AVI files. When I try to load an AVI file it says "MCI driver not found".. (or something to that effect). Can someone please give me a hand with this one? I'm up a brick wall.. — Steve, puzzled

Just some notes: AAS24C.DRV is an outdated codec from our beta test versions. AASC.DRV replaces it, but still handles old .AVI's created with it. You can delete AAS24C.DRV, from control panel/drivers. "MCI driver not found" sounds like Video For Windows is screwed up, trouble with the registration database, not able to find the mciavi.drv. Try reinstalling Video For Windows (by installing Animator Player again). Then, maybe, reinstalling Premiere if you haven't already (4.0 if you've got it! ).

I'll try removing the AAS24C.drv out from the control panel. I'll also try re-installing the animator player to get the video for windows back to normal (I don't know why it wouldn't be but anyhow..) There's a 4.0 of Premiere?? When'd that happen? I have release 1.0! — Steve
