Is there (thru external or ipas routine), or will there be support for rendering directly to an .avi File? I do not want to have to first render to .tga and then post-process the sequential targa files. Does any company have plans to make a plug-in to achieve this function?

Probably not the answer you want to hear, but I use Adobe Premier for Windows to post-process 3DS4 FLics TGAs etc into AVIs. This also allows padding /interleaving for CD-ROM playback.

Thanks, but I really need to know if there is an internal DIRECT to AVI solution. The problem we would like to solve is the one of double-rendering our animations. I would like to render to AVI without the second step. Does anyone happen to have any developing information to try and program a plug-in of this type?

Kenneth, >> Does anyone happen to have any developing information to try and program a plug-in of this type? Animetix has an IPAS routine that will output to a 24 bit QuickTime format; maybe they can do something with AVI also. They have a demo in QTIME.ZIP in the libraries. John

Ahh, sorry. Misunderstood the point. Nope, I don't know of any, but if you hear of something, *please* let me know too! Reynolds
