SITA – the company for whom I work – have offices in 200 countries. However,
all of the training material is produced in English language by the poor,
hardworking slobs who are here on the Cote d'Azur in the south of France.
Currently we use Autodesk Animator Pro (2 copies, licence numbers available)
and would like to upgrade to the new, all singing all dancing Animator Studio.
Our supplier, a nice guy and typically French says that the product should be
available in France sometime around November, December ish.
As almost every other SITA centre can walk down the road a buy a copy "off the
shelf" it is a little annoying to be told that I have to wait for Autodesk to
get their act together and ship some (English language version, nothing
complicated) to France. It also does not do a lot for our credibility with
regional offices when we have to say that WEdon't yet have the product.
Come on AutoDesk – how the heck can we get our upgrades and keep using your
product!

Carron –
I am moving your message about English versions to the Marketing Section of the
forum and will bring it to the attention of a marketing representative to try
to get you the fastest possible answer.
No need to repost the message (this is your second one) since the messages stay
on the forum for about 3 weeks.
Anne
Many thanks – I had posted it in mktg. already so will delete any duplicate
there. I got a 'checking it out' response the next day so we'll wait and see
what happens.
Yours – fingernail biting – Carron.
I have forwarded this to the MM marketing people and the Product Manager tells
me you should be getting a call from the Autodesk office in France.
Many thanks – I will wait for the call with baited breath!
We got a call from our local supplier and the order is now going through so,
thank you, for your help.
A question….. the new product allows me to combine the FLC and WAV files
to a single entity which I may then embed into my application (Lotus NOTES).
The question is: What is the new file format and how can I get hold
(quickly) of a sample in this format to test out. Anything will do but
something around 250K would be great.
Nothing works quickly in France ('cept me of course <g>) so I probably won't
get the upgrade before September – hence the need to try out NOW.
Many thanks CARRON ;~)

Carron,
Animator Studio produces AVI files. There are thousands of these available on
Compuserve in the Graphics and entertainment forums. You could download one to
work with from there.
