They usually have decent articles comparing network OS and set-up. Also there have been a couple of good books to read *before* you start buying lots of stuff. They're not 3DS -specific, but they may be helpful. If you don't get any other replies, you might benefit from reading Ken Billing's book "Managing and Networking AutoCAD" from New Riders Press. It is getting a little outdated (written in 1990), but most all of the info is still good. There is also "The Complete CAD Manager" or something from Ralph Grabowski, from DelMar Books. It talks less about software than it does about standards and practices, but I think it is good info.
