When I turn the power on, the LCD forms a temporary black square in the upper right hand corner, before the Menu appears. Does anyone know what this is and why? Thanks -David *** There is a reply: 85874 Enter command, N for next message or <ENTER> for menu:n

David, Nothing to worry about. When the machine is turned on, there is a slight delay while the operating system goes through it's initialization functions, and checks to see if you have an IPL program, etc., and if not, then loads the menu into the screen buffer. During that time, anything that might have been in the screen buffer area might show for a moment or two… No problem, it's cleared before the menu is displayed. I ocassionally get lots of !!!!!'s across line 8…. *** There is a reply: 85890 Enter command, N for next message or <ENTER> for menu:n

Thanks for the feedback; nice to know that my machine is not necessarily about to explode. -David Enter command, N for next message or <ENTER> for menu: Read Option Menu 1 (RA) Read again 2 (N) Read next message 4 (RE) Reply with current subject 5 (UA) Reply with new subject 7 (T) Return to Function Menu Enter selection or H for help:n
