#200 PRINTER CODES

THE BOOK DON'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT, AND I TRIED IT THE SAME WAY AS ON THE 100

They are likely to work the same, Doug. There is a caveat, though — the
embedded printer codes (as I remember) have no effect if you print a file using
the 'SHIFT-PRINT' approach. You must be using a print program such as the ones
in DL0.
I suggest you ask Jim Irwin. He writes printing programs and owns a Model 200.
I don't know his ppn offhand (have it at home). Sysop can probably tell you.

Apparently the print drive from text filters out control codes when printing.
The trick is to embed the codes so that the high bit is set (graphics
characters, etc) and then print. For example, for the Epson MX series you need
to send <ESC>E to get correspondence mode. Type <CTL>p<GRAPH>kE … what you
should see is a left arrow and the letter E. This willpass through to the
printer. Find the codes you need from your printer manual then look up in the
code chart in the back of the manual adding 128 to the ascii value of your

200. I was trying to help out by giving M200 advice based on my M100 experienc
e; apparently they don't work the same, at least from your message.
