#WRITEROM

ANTHONY MARRA BACK AGAIN VACATION BUT DID NOT HAVE MUCH TIME TO USE MODEL 100
WHICH I BROUGHT WITH ME. LOCAL LINE HAS BEENDEAD FOR SEVERAL DAYS… AT SOME
FUTURE TIME I'VE BEEN considering buying WRITEROM from pcsg and was wondering
if any one has had any comments about it since it seems to be what I need in my
writing. Hard trying to do it manually…now Traveling Softwar has ULTIMATE
ROM FOR $50. more two additional programs built in. Appreciate any comments.
Thanks…
Anthony:
Personal experience with Write ROM, though limited, has been most
pleasing indeed. See WROM1.REV and WRIROM.REV in the DL 6 database; the latter
is the most up to date.
Just went through trash trying to find Traveling's blurb on Ultimate
ROM and can't come up with it, but believe you are way off base on price.
Good luck …

several things you should know about WRITE ROM: (a) no formatting commands
available in the automatic page footer/header func tion (b) no formatting
commands available in the much-touted LIBRARY function (c) headers and footers
always print outside the margins (!) and figuring out top and bottom margins is
an exercise in "newspeak". (d) limited support for printerfeatures in
built-in/programmable printer areas (e) documentation carefully avoids
mentionning these curiosities. Very unPCSG like. The above comments relate to
v. 1.3, which I just returned after an all-night try out. However, it doeswork
just like the manual says it will. I'm waiting for v 1.x. regards, s. lenkowsky
