#Expensive Modem

Sorry to revert to a previous question but regarding using the model100 as an
"expensive" modem, do you see any problems, apart from slow operation, if I
write a program to get input from the phone,via the built in modem, for a short
time, say 5 seconds, then send x-off, transmit out of the rs232, receive from
the rs232 for 5 seconds, send x-off through the rs232, send x-on through the
phone and so-on.
Although this would add delays in communication, what chance it might work?

but sounds to me that you would be doing OPEN "MDM:7I1E" …. CLOSE …. OPEN
"COM:7I1E" …. CLOSE back a forth; don't know whether t'would work or not.
Certainly you'd have to stow INPUT in RAM before opening for OUTPUT which would
come from RAM file, not MDM — I think.

The problem with that… dum, de dum dum… is that when you turn off the modem
mode, you also disconnect from the phone line.
(tee hee) It's all been tried, and you can't do it. But go ahead…. prove me
