rest of the forums) are full of shareware authors. You are part of that by
your own admission. The programmers guide and information about the quality of
each shareware (or PD for that matter) release would be nice to have available.
Unfortunately, there are many factors envolved and what I may consider to be
'junk' the next guy might think is 'the finest piece of software that has ever
been written.' Just following the threads on this forum help one considerably
in determining the merits of programs used by members (commercial also).

Certainly so — but if you had a forum of shareware authors
withOUT an attendant user base, then what would, say, an Amiga
author talk about to a C64 or Atari author? Only the vaguest of stuff,
I think. In the meantime, machine-specific forums l;ike this one
are probably more useful — pity there seems to be so little
crosstalk, however, when topics really DO get more "global."
(I speak from some experience, being a long-ago sysop on ARTSIG)
