#Insider Problem?

I have read all of the good news about the INSIDER memory expansion for
the Amy but has anyone had any problems with the clock? I have had my insider
for about 3 days now and the memory seems to work just fine. However whenever I
try to use the RTClock command with my SCSI host adapter (CLtd.) installed the
system gurus with (after some delay) 00000004.00C05010. The command works just
fine without the SCSI adapter plugged in. Also the problem occurs whether or
not the hard disk has been mounted.
I don't know if its the clock or the host adapter now, but after Saturday
I will as I plan to borrow another fellow's SCSI adapter and try to duplicate
the problem. Meanwhile has anyone else seen this problem Does anyone have any
ideas as to what may be happening except for the old runnaway program syndrome?

Have you tried running without using the RTClock command?

Yes, I have tried running without the RTClock command. Everything is just
fine then. Its only when I try to execute that command with the "update the
Amiga clock" options that I have problems. Otherwise I can do everything that
I used to only with 1 Meg more memory.

I have an Insider and a Xebec HD (with it's attendant SCSI host
adapter) and have had NO problems like you describe. I realize that this
doesn't help you with your particular problem, but it does indicate to me that
RTClock is NOT a problem program.

Thanks anyway. I am wondering if there might be a problem with something on
the board in addressing the clock or maybe I have a hidden problem with my SCSI
host adapter. I'll know tomorrow morning when I get another just like mine to
try (and another Amiga to try INSIDER on too!).

since it all works fine without the SCSI adapter, and since my Insider
works fine with someone else's SCSI adapter….I'd have to suspect your SCSI
adapter. Obviously, you'll get a chance to test that with your friend's SCSI
adapter.
