Gee, Kurt, I've been downloading messages twice a week for about six months
with Access! without a hitch. My typical download is 300K in size.
I capture to DF1: at 2400 baud and have my serial port buffer set to 8000.

The serial port buffer (ala setable by preferences) is 'changed' by
Access! at run time. I too have yet to see th eproblem Kurt describes… but
_he_ is having some problem and it sounds like it's 'repeatable' for _him_.
Steve A. (sysop here) has also seen it happen, but from my tests so far,
I can't seem to reproduce it… I think it's been described as 'repeating the
_same_ msg over and over, this leads me to think it's a 'node' problem (or a
CIS one).
_If_ it's some 'portion' of a msg, then it might be tracable to Acc!…
how 'bout it guys? is it a 'msg' that gets repeated or just some 'arbitrary'
_text_ ? (portion of a msg).

In a followup message Kurt reports "If I hangup on Compuserve but DON'T
close my capture buffer then somemore messages come accross my monitor.".
That leads me to believe that 'some more' means different messages other than
the 2 that are constantly repeated. Since this happens after disconnect, it
also leads me to believe it's not a node problem. Since, with the modem
disconnected, it's impossible for different text to be coming into the
buffer.
BTW, _once_ I saw this on another system when I was capturing a lot of text.

Keith, what does Access! do with the serial port buffer? In my downloads to
disk at 2400 baud (simple capture) I have never lost any data.
When the buffer was set at 512 with an eariler release of Access!, I would
have data loss all the time.
