ARexx speed and SCAN?

Why fight to save bytes, when people write programs – and will continue to
write programs – that spend 4-10K on custom file requester code, or have 4-16
K just for gadget imagery? Does 10-20K here or there make much difference in
a two meg machine? If someone *isn't* running graphics intensive programs
that tend to hog memory, it makes even less sense to worry about code size.
I'm not aiming for the MS-DOS ideals of 1 meg application programs, of
course. Related question: what's the biggest commercial program anyone's
seen on the Amiga?
I was talking raw on-disk executable size, not so much minimum memory
requirements… either number is equally interesting, though.
The program I am currently writing ( "Weather-Link" ) is (to date) 202524
bytes as it sits on the disk. (surely not the biggest… just somewhere to
start)

Last I looked, Deluxe Paint Ii was about 5K bigger than that, at about
207K, Professional Page was about 325K, and Excellence was almost 350K. Diga
is also large, but I can't remember how large.
