Just downloaded CoComm & KanTNC.arc. They look very good but don't think it
will satisfy Harry. His HP term reads the system clock and updates the tnc
automatically. Unless I'm missing something, I don't think CoComm can do
that.
Again, as far I'm conserned CoComm is great, but to Harry… Well, you'd
never understand without meeting the guy.
I'm going to whip up a short program that will set his clock. He'll have to
run it before bringing up CoComm, but maybe that'll be alright.

Dale, CoComm can read his clock, no problem. It can read it into a temp file
in ram, proceedurally build a new time format in another file depending on
the contents of the first file, then set the system from that – or it can do
it in the reverse order, of course. IT can also execute any program you write
to do that from a macro key. Furthermore, since you can define a macro key to
be executed automatically on startup, it will be completely transparent to
him once it is written, no matter how you choose to do it. –Ben–
Ben, I showed CoComm to Harry today. His first response was.. "I don't need
all those buttons. I can type the commands in faster." But, after showing him
around for a while, he admitted he liked it. (He spent half an hour sending
CQ's with the Happy-faces in the syms config for pete-sakes. No one answered
him) 😉
I think you'll see the $15 shareware contribution from him. He really wants
the manual. 🙂

Glad he got some use out of it… that packet config was a pretty good
effort, as you might guess from all the files associated with it. Took me
about a day, I think, to get it just right.
The idea of the buttons is so you can forget the commands – use your brain
for hamming around, instead of #2 repository of the TNC manual. I used to be
faster on the kbd, too… but now I don't even know what the cmds _are_! and
that's the way I want it. <grin> –Ben–
