Speaking of happenings, Jay….. you might be interested in this… a few weeks
ago, I met some woman on a plane and she told me that her son worked at some
college (she named it, I forgot :^( ) and that they had successfully FROZEN, as
in suspended animation, a dog….. AND! they revived it, no ill effects… she
told me this quite casually… she was a housefrau type, I consider it very
unlikely that she was snowing me… I asked a LOT of questions, and got some
fairly good answers. I gave her my card, told her to give it to sonny –
hopefully she will. Now, another thing to consider is that perhaps sonny was
snowing HER…. being, er, optomistic… but it fascinating to hear, in any
case. Made my evening. Time Travel! –Ben–

But… but… we're already travelling in that direction! All you'd be doing
is getting there faster relative to your reality.
Me, I want to be able to go the OTHER way. (Not that I think it's
theoretically possible… I have this hunch that maybe someday we can pop
forward in time — REAL time travel — but that going backwards is an
impossibility.)

I suspect high speed positional travel will provide you with your
forward-travel goal… I'd be happier with that, myself. However, I'm very
interested in Freeze-technology because of the hope it offers people with
severe medical problems, and the chance it offers starry eyed idiots like me to
see things 500 or 1000 years from now. And since it appears to be here now,
I'll take it until something better comes along. –Ben–
Going backwards does force the point of alternate universes. Or so it seems.
Unless its like that show "Time Tunnel" where the heros tried to make changes
in history but kept finding out they were part of it. Have you heard about the
fellows who have come up with a formula to create universes? And they are
fooling around with the plans? I wonder what would happen to our own if they
had a plan that worked???
Ah "Doorway into summer!" ala Mr Heinlien. One of my alltime favorite books. I
wonder how they stop crystal formation? Do you know if they brought the temp
below freezing? Or was it a cooling type of thing?
