I think it would be wonderful if Micro-Illusions would compile DEMOS of their
new games and send them here for us to play with.
As a dealer, advance demos create alot of excitement – the list includes
Interceptor, Return From Atlantis, Ferrarri Formula One, Gunship, Silent
Service, Western Europe Scenery disk, and many many more…..
Ideally demos should come out 2 weeks before a product is shipped. IMHO
OOOOPS! Would someone change that to "Product Demos" and delete this message
before I am embarrassed and humiliated any further?
Thanks.
Nope Henry, looks like you're just gonna have to feel embarrased. <grin>

It's good to know that Henry's off on his right, er, usual foot. <grin> Hi
Vic…. and Hi, Henry! –Ben–
Henry,
I agree! I always create demos of my programs; it's free advertising. I have
recommended it to all of the programmers.
There is a downside for application programs. You end up with old versions
floating around, and people don't realize that the product has since
(hopefully) improved. —Mike
Oh boy! So where's the demo of the new one that came out – the one that has
the package that makes it look boring…umm..searching for magazine.. Tracers.
Henry,
The package for Tracers is not exactly a prkotional masterpiece. 8) The
game itself looks pretty good: I played it a bit, but I'm not into arcade type
games myself. —Mike
So where's the demo for Tracers?
Henry,
Only in your mind. I am now suggesting the programmers create demos; in six
or seven months we will see if they listen to our suggestion. —Mike
OK – I thought maybe you were Prez and could order them to make one. (grin)
Not yet. 8) —Mike
Ideally (hehehe), the hooplah surrounding the shipment of a product should
not drag on for OVER A YEAR, as it has done with several Amiga products,
including Music-X (to name a notirous example).
The problem is that people start wanting it, waiting for it, and eventually
lose interest and may not even buy any of the product's competing products.
They'll just spend the money on new wire rims or something.
Also, a product should not be ADVERTISED (don't tell MicroIllusions
this–they'll be embarrassed) until just short of its shipment date. For the
exact reasons as above.
J:
Jay,
rest assured that Microillusions is not pleased that we advertised a product
a year before it ships. We realize that it is costing us money and some
customer goodwill (which translates into money). To say that it is due to
circumstances beyond our control would be stating the obvious.
Hopefully, after seeing it, you will agree that it was worth the wait.
—Mike
Well, i hope it was worth MicroIllusions' wait. I convinced several clients
to WAIT for Music-X, and they're not waiting any more.
They gave up the wait after about 8 months.
I'm waiting for someone to give me a MIDI keyboard, so I'm still waiting.
Might be waiting a LONG time!
J:
What's the status of the Photon Video products? Is Cel Animator shipping yet?
And the rendering/animation =Nrams? I think they were announced even before
Music-X… 🙂

Also included in the list of long awaited programs is Land of Legends.
Is it out yet? and how can I get ahold of a copy (Buy one that is!)
T.Baird
Tom,
Land of Legends is not out yet. I estimate another two months, but it's up
to the programmer, not me. —Mike
