After I double click on the forum name and get the next screen, what is the QSN, RTN, OVERWRITE, APPEND used for? and also I added a forum named CBMART to it. When I highlighted the CBMART box and clicked GET MESSAGES, it loged on properly and went to CBMART. Then the Section names come up on screen, after the prompt for whap to make a selection, it just froze!? 🙁 same thing with Amigatech. Also do I have to join first? Sometimes when I hang up, whap throws in the word join just before it hangs up?? I,m already a member of these forums. C/U/L Bruno

Bruno, The QSN, RTN choice is how you wish to read messages. QSN will 'scan' the message subject headers and tell you how many new messages are on that particular thread. RTN is a Read Thread New, and will read new messages in the topics you are set to in thread order. OVERWRITE and APPEND are how you wish to store the messages Whap! reads. Append will just tack the new ones on the end of the old ones, building the file up as it goes. Overwrite will rename the old file by putting a .BAK on the end, and starting a new file, effectively deleting the last .MSG.BAK file. You MUST be set to command mode, first area Forum in the individual forums. NO MENUS! If you override your User Profile (for that terminal definition set) in the Forum, Whap! will just sit there, looking for the non-existant prompt, and then time out. I'm using a beta version, and the JOIN action doesn't work properly. I don't know if it's fixed, but to be safe, JOIN any new forum manually for now. Reset to the proper setting in your old Forum's OPtions, and Whap! should then behave itself. Let it do the work for you. Doug

Thanks for the info and advice. I'll try it out. When I finally get this working I'll most likely register. Well thanks again. C/U/L Bruno
