Photo-Edge with Texel
4 messages in this thread
I have a Texel DM-3024 CD-ROM drive and Adaptec 1540B SCSI controller.
I can not seem to get the Kodak PhotoEdge software to recognize my drive.
I have the latest ASPI4DOS.SYS driver and the drive works fine for DOS
files and CS audio. Does anyone have a clue to what my problem is? The
PhotoEdge manual says something about some Photo-CD access softare on the
sample Photo-CD but I can't seem to find anything like that. Help!!
Thanks!
Brian
Brian,
From your message I am not sure you if you have all the right drivers
loaded.
In your Config.sys you need two lines like these:
Device=c:\scsi\aspi4dos.sys /D (This line loads the aspi driver)
Device=C:\SCSI\CUNI_ASP.SYS /E /ID:4 /N:1 /XA /D:MSCD001
(This is the line that loads the "Photo CD driver" This one is from Corel
SCSI. If you are using the Adaptec one it does not read Photo CDs and you
will need a new driver. You also do need the "/XA" to read photo CDs make
sure it is there.)
You also need a line like this in your Autoexec.bat file:
C:\scsi\MSCDEX.EXE /V /M:12 /E /D:MSCD001
It should then work. When you put a normal (data) CD in the drive can you
do a catalog with Windows "File Manager"?
Hope this helps, Jeff….
Thanks Jeff, but according to the Kodak.txt file I downloaded from this
forum, they list the Adaptec SCSI drive and ASPI manager software (included
with Adaptec "kits") as supported software with a Sony drive so I assume it
should work with my Texel. I will give Adaptec, Texel, and Kodak a call
Monday morning. Thanks again for the help.

Brian,
You can call the Kodak Information Center (KIC) for technical assistance.
Call 800-242-2424, ext. 53.
Or, you can leave a message for Joel White in the technical service area.
His CIS ID is 71333,727. Give Joel your full system configuration so he
can help you track down the problem.
