I need some advice as I'm looking for the best package to buy. I've got a 486/33mhz IBM PS/Value Point and looking to add CD + Sound to the system. I want a quality drive with decent performance, as I would like to play with video action sometime in the future. I've been purusing Computer Shopper and see that Creative Multi-Media kit is very popular with the SoundBlaster Pro which certainly seems to be an defacto industry standard. However, I've yet to be able to see the details on the drive. Is it Photo Compatible with Kodak? What is the transfer speed? I've also seen ads for the NEC CDR84 + Pro Audo Spectum 16 bit card. I've seen some people claim there are problems with this unit in the forums. Is this really true?? Has anyone have them that are satisfied with it?? What about the Sony Drives (535 or the 31a) or the Talon TA-100 or TA-200. I've never heard of of Talon and was wondering if anyone had any exeprience with them and finally one other brand was the Texcel. As you can see, I'm trying to find the right combo of drive and soundcard that will be the most compatiable with each other and with the most software. Any advice or help anyone can give me would certainly be really appreciated.
