Missed you at the show (but then again, you missed a few CWAC meetings…..8)). I kept browsing around to see nametags—-didn't see anyone from CIS there…That seemed to be a bad word at the show. Did you make it to any seminars. I went to the one on animation and felt like I threw away $5.00. I thought they would be more "this is how it is done" and not "see what I do" & "see what my product does". I was a little dissapointed in those. Overall, I thought it was OK. I wasn't blown away by the number or type of vendors. I thought there would be more sound & business oriented stuff there. Is that all the business stuff there is out there? I can see why the Amiga has not the following of the PC if that is all there really is out there….. Bob (from waupaca) stopped over to see you but when I went by you were swamped! GREAT!!!! Hope the product does well… Now, about the next CWAC meeting (2nd Tuesday of every month) Nudge, nudge, wink wink….8)! Jerry

Jerry, why was CIS a bad word at AmiEXPO? Marlene

I'm sure he was referring to the booth-presence of another network, the one that starts with a 'P'. 🙂

I haven't been happy with the seminars, either. I didn't even visit any at this show; though I hosted one in LA in January, it was supposed to be an overview, not a tutorial. The trouble is, they ask the vendors to do the seminars, which means product plugs galore. They don't pay anyone to do seminars, so all the money goes back to AmiEXPO. You aren't the only one I've heard complain about the lack of seminar quality. Business stuff? Are you kidding? At an Amiga show? "Uhm, WordPerfect is here…" I saw Bill Raynor at the show, and a few people from the Milwaukee and Madison groups.

John, Bill, Bob & I had lunch on Saturday at some sidewalk greek place …great gyros!! I thought the "lecturers" weren't getting paid. That explains the poor quality. I think that will hurt the amiga. People tend to look at a show like "AMI EXPO" as being a showplace of amiga stuff. If all they see is games and a bunch of amigoids running around, they will think that our machine is only a great game machine…. It really bothered me that the expo was so "flea-market" like. They should make it a bit more professional. I wish they were on CIS, so I could bend their ear. Do you know where I could get a hold of them? Jerry
