#New User Help
9 messages in this thread
Keith,
I feel very important that a computer bigshot like yourself would take the
time to help a new user out. Why is your program not a commercial one. It is
nationally recognized as one of the best (so I am told). I got my copy in
Portland Oregon but I live in Vancouver B.C. so I don't really have a local
dealer to turn to when I have a problem. Thanks again. I will contact you if I
still can't get the stuff to work.
Rick Herbert.
<blush> Thanks for the kind words… I try to help out whenever I can, let
me know if you can't get er going.
Keith
Keith, while you're in a good mood … 😉
How the next update coming? You've got some serious competition from JRcomm,
you know.
I'm playing with it as time permits (not much), it's comming along…..
Keith
Keith,
I started a message and was cut off with a bunch of funny symbols. so I don't
know if you have read what I first wrote. Anyway, second try, the program copy
does NOT work properly. It has no Access!me or Anything!me file on it. I would
really like to get a copy that works properly. If I can get one from you it
would be great. If you can, let me know your address and how much $$$$ you want
for a nice authentic version including how to make the thing go. One last
thing, the modem I got (SUPRA 2400zi) came with a disk to "install driver" and
"modem modify" I don't know if I screwed something up when I was bungling
around with these.
Thanks,
Rick Herbert
Rick,
The most recent version is available here in the telecomm LIB as
"ACC142.ARC" and should have everything you need in it. Or if you prefer, the
address is Rt. 2 Box 261 Goodview, Va. 24095
The ShareWare registration fee is $25, but I only ask that you send that
after you've tried it and decided to use it (ie.. decided it's worth it). If
you do want a version mailed to you, try to send me a blank disk, and
self-addressed disk mailer with return postage and I'll get it to you.

Rick,
There is a very active Amiga user group in Vancouver. It's called Panorama,
and has regular meetings twice a month, on the second and fourth Wednesday of
each month. The meeting place is BCIT on Willingdon in Burnaby, at 7:30. The
next meeting will take place on July 12. Please feel free to come out to a few
meetings to see if you like it before paying to join ($25/year for new
membership, $20/yr for renewals).
We have two types of meetings, 'general' and 'programmers', the genral being
on the second Wednesday of the month, and the programmers being on the fourth
Wednesady. The programmers meeting has a 'side meeting' for beginners, where a
lot of your questions will be answered. There are also special interest groups
that meet on other evenings.
If you decide to drop in, please look me up. I'm usually in the 'smoking
room', which translates to just outside the door.

Larry,
Thank you very much. I am a new user and I have more questions than you could
imagine. I just may have to drop in. I know the Willingdon area but BCIT is a
Fairly big place. If you happen to read this before the 12th maybe you could
leave some specific directions. Thank you,
Rick Herbert.
Rick,
Since I am a sysop on this forum, I am usually on every night (I miss a few,
especially on meeting nights).
The meeting is in room 129, an auditorium in the 'main building'. If you are
going south from Canada Way on Willingdon, take the first left. As you drive in
to BCIT, the big building on the right is the one you want, and room 129 is at
the rear, north end. Can't miss it… look for a bunch of compter nerds. <grin>
