Looking into a Texel cd rom drive, my question is this, if I dont use my
computer for games would the Microsoft SS board be an resonable choice over
a Pro audio 16?, I would however like to play CD audio through The sound
board I have a Zeos with SCSI option so the interface of the PA16 would not
be necessary.
Mike.
Mike, it depends on what you plan to do. Some CD-ROMs may use MIDI or even
Sound Blaster sound files which wouldn't play on the MS SS. For example,
someone noted that to play music in one of the major CD-ROM encyclopedias
requires MIDI capability. I'm not sure about playing Audio CDs. Since
they just pass thru the sound they should work. Maybe there is a section
in the Microsoft Forum where you can get a better answer. Jim
