#Caligari

Concerning a Conversion Module for Caligari… we'll definitly take the
reader module for now and the full implementation when you can get it done.
I don't think that you will exactly get stinking rich off of it but there
is definetly some demand for it. As an Amiga retailer I would try to price
it somewhere around that of say the Turbo Module… speaking of which, we
are looking forward it with anticipation.
Duane, re the Caligari program… I understand it's claim to fame (for an
affordable price, anyway) is its object editor? I have the demo of
Caligari. Is the editor the same in the 'consumer version'?? What did they
take out of the pro version? –jp–
From the Pro version of Caligari they removed just about everything but
the editor. The personal version is only the editor… no animation, no
video deck controller etc. I realy can't see the reason for the personal
version unless John Foust releases the Interchange module for it. The
personal version really dosen't do anything excep a great edititor. P.S.
The solid modeling is the pits.. dithering is not as good as say PageRender
3D.
BTW… Impulse was talking about an ARexx interface for TS SV. Do you know
if they implemented it and if so what are some of the detail. Sure would
be nice if there was an interface into Diamond as well.
OK so I am talking to myself… I'll get the hang of this thing one of
these days.
Duane, IF there is an ARexx interface in TSilver SV, I haven't found it** I
do wish that there was one… I agree that paint programs would be nice to
add to the ARexx group, but more important (to me, at least) are programs
such as Butcher and PixMate… I can't count how many times I have wanted
to batch process a whole lot of files, doing the same thing to each of
them, and had to do it manually… Encore helps, as does Multiplane, but an
ARexx interface would be SWELL. ttfn –jp–
The ARexx hook was taken out of SV at the last moment. Look for it in the
next rev which is a couple months away.
