#Launching A Program!
2 messages in this thread
I'm 98% complete in my program, and am having problems finishing the last 2%!
It involves launching a program with the execute() dos call. I got the output
file handle with the Output() dos call, and the input file handle is 0. Now
when I launch a program with execute(), it seems to work ok, but when I
execute() a script file using the following commandstring, 'c:run c:execute
s:script' I run into problems.
The script file s:script is the following,
c:assign TEST: rad:Work cd TEST:
The program will execute() the commandstring, then immediately exit to the CLI
which ran program. Now when I cd to check the cd path, it is not cd'ed to
rad:Work. When I check TEST: with assign, it worked.
What I really want to do is properly 'inject' that commandstring right into the
command line of the CLI. I messaged about this before, and the advice I got was
to use the execute() command, but I get these problems.
When I solve this problem, I will release a PD program which I feel will be
very useful. By the way, I'm programming in assembly language, and am using
WShell.
Help….
Luciano, Execute() literally launches a new 'CLI' in a sense. So, any command
that only affects the 'current CLI' will lost its effect once Execute() ends
and closes down its 'CLI'. For example, CD and PATH will not work. ?S3v
