Along the same lines: does QB not coexist with MNP? I tried to grab a file yesterday using Access! and I couldn't get it going — despite multiple tries — until I kicked the modem out of MNP mode. Would you know if this is a QB/MNP problem or an Access!/MNP problem, or what? Thanks… Rick

QB works fine with MNP.

Mmm, must be something with Access!, then. Glad I asked Keith the same question. What happens is, I consistently see the string which (I assume) should be going to the protocol handler, sort of a "QB&#<filename>73@" or suchlike. Access! seems to just sit there waiting, as if it never saw the startup (which it obviously didn't), and then eventually the host times out. I wonder of Keith is looking for a packet of data all within time "t", and the MNP packet is breaking it across the middle, such that he times out and assumes it's normal data? That's the way, for example, that VMS handles special functions from VT terminals, and that would certainly break it. Hmm. Thanks for the comeback. Rick
