this is my first cserve message,… I have a problem with my new cdrom
drive. When I am in windows running a music disc via a dos application
music player and then open Word for Windows, the music is blown away when
the cd drive is searched for doc files.
Why? and how do I fix it?

The CD-ROM drive can only do one thing at a time and so if it is searching
for a document it can't play music. Are you using the multi-media word for
windows?
