#Turbo supports CMI FPU?

I finally ran out to buy crystals for my CMI board's '81 FPU when I got your
latest TURBO. However the program bombs out with an illegal opcode trap
(System trap, line F emulation) at once when I try to run turbo.fp. Question
is: what do you guys do to add floating point support. The CMI board relies on
use of the IEEE libraries to have its FPU recognized. As I understand it, it
maps the 081 into 00E0000 whereas the other board/fpu combo's do things a
little differently. Is there any hope for me? PS: I know the FPU works just
fine.

Turbo DOES NOT support the the CMI board. Call Impulse at 800-328-0184 to
voice your desire that they support this product.

You recently bought the cmi accelerator? And it came with floating point
software? Ummm. We wrote that software and CMI never paid us for it. Stole it
basically. They were instructed not to ship our software anymore. Did you buy
it directly from them?

I bought one of those CMI Accelerators too… I was under the impression that
the math libraries they supplied were Commodore's V1.3 libraries.
Anyway the thing did not provide performance anywhere near what that much
money should have bought. I still have it somewhere because I could not find
anyone who would buy it from me. I have a 2500 now. That is performance!

I've had the CMI for quite some time now. I also had 81 chips for it. However
I never got around to buying the crystals which were backordered at the time.
When turbo advertised floating point, I ordered the crystals in hopes…

You would not be able to use the turbo.fp version under any circumstances with
the CMI board. Turbo.fp uses inline F-code which requires an '020. You would
have a much better chance using the regular version of turbo.

Thanks for that info. I was gonna buy a GVP '30 board, but they were back
ordered into the next century. I settled for their Syquest removable and a
couple of controllers instead. I presume the GVP 30/82 combo is standard
enough to be supported right?

Yes, that's what I'm using and it is very fast.
