#A3001 and ALF
3 messages in this thread
I just got a A3001 board running at 28mhz, and when I try to boot from I
ALF auto boot controller, it crashes, when I boot from floppy it works
fine, I don't think that the problem lies in my startup-sequence unless it
is my setcpu command which reads, Setcpu Fastrom Cache Burst, it used to
read the same thing except that the CardRom command was place at the end, I
took that out because I didn't know the ROM specs. for my controller.
Occasionally, my computer will boot from the HDisk but then it crashes
whenever I try to run a program. If any one has had these problems and can
help me out I'd appreciate it.
Thanks, Paddy Hannon 73437,1474
I know about this problems with the ALF controller, as we have many of them
here in germany. Ralph Babel, who is involved in developing the software
for GVP, spoked with Oliver Kastel, who is responsible for the ALF
software. Oliver promised to work on this problem, but unfortunately this
ALF-guys are not professional like GVP. I heard that Oliver was thrown out
of the Amiga developers group by CBM, cause spreading 1.4 stuff.
Ralph is at GVP the next two weeks, I suggest to call him there.
Give him my hello, as he doesn't know, that I'm working on CIS in the Amiga
forum.

Yhanks! I just called GVp and hopefully they get me in touch with him, I
also called Pre'spect the c ompany which distribust ALF here, and hopefully
they can solve my problems. Too bad they aren't very professional (ALF)
because they make a great product which be very popular here in the US all
they have to do is learn how to market their products and get them into
stores, especially mail or der places. Paddy
