System Clock Trouble!

My A2620 was one of the very first to roll off the line. I got it before
the 2500's started shipping so I know I had the first ROMs done. I found
out about the new ones from Dave Minnich here on CIS. Commodore doesn't
send out notification on these upgrades which makes me none too happy.
These are expensive products we buy the least they can do is mail a post
card saying new ROMs are available. It was the same with my A2091 I had to
find out from Dave.
The new ROMs have the following part numbers just in case you want to get
them:
390282-04 and 390283-04
They didn't cost me a whole lot but then the dealer here is a personal
friend! Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks for the reply. Were you experiencing any particular sort of
problems with your machine that caused you to search for an answer, or was
this just "for the heckuvit?" I know of no problem that I can lay on the
door of my 2620 😎 but I have a few mystery Gurus now and then.
Usually when I try and "improve" something, I come to regret it. 8-(

I was having troubles getting Amouse to work and I thought the new chips
would help, they of course didn't. I had one very weird thing though. My
machine has 1 Meg of CHIP RAM and 6 Meg of FAST RAM which leaves exactly 2
Meg of address space for my AT BBoard to work in. What was strange was
when I got a new motherboard, Rev 6.2B, and when I would try to boot into
the 68000 mode. I'd get the menu screen and at the top I had a text
message saying "Out of Autoconfigure Memory Space"! I couldn't figure it
out but it went away when I put in the new ROM chips. Also the yellow
background changed color and the bottom box became AMIX. Also if you click
in the AMIX box the machine doesn't crash like mine used to! Those are the
only things I can find that the new ROMs cleared up. Hope this helps you
make a choice.

hiya … well i have a bridge board and having a problem to also i have a
6.2b… i have a xt bridgeboard with a 500 model of the hurricane board
with a Spirit HDA-506 adapter….and 5 megs of 16bit meme and 1 meg of 32
bit…. in 68000 mode the bridgeboard works fine but in 68020 the
brigeboard tells me that it can't find the janus.library …. dunno y?…
The A2630 (68030) card had similar problems until you updated to a BB BIOS
3.6 or later. I thought that was due to the some pecularity of the 2630,
but then I think some timing is off due to the accelerator running too
quickly. janus.library fails to stay loaded when things get out of sync.
