Hey Ron, How have you been? I talked to Woody the other day and he was so so helpful! I wish more software companies were like him! Pen Pal 2.0 should be real nice! Did you get a 3000 yet? I am waiting for one to come in. It should make the Desktop Publishing alot of fun. I just hope my software orks. Thanks! Jamie

I haven't been able to reach Woody by phone; one reason I don't know what one is supposed to use that theasaurus for, or whether that unknown use can be done from within Pen Pal. 2.0 should be nice, but at this point I simply don't know what it will do. I haven't gotten a 3000; my 2000, with 68000, still runs, and the 3000 still has no way to run (in real terms) the available bridgeboards. Good luck with the one you get! Ron

I have the 3000 now. It is a really neat machine. Most all of my business type software runs fine. I still have the 2000. I am gonna hang onto it untill the 3000 os is alittle more stable. Pen Pal works great with 2.0. Thanks! Jamie

Jamie, You say that most of your business stuff runs fine on the 3000. Is that in 1.3 mode or 2.0? Thanks, Karl

I am using the 2.0 software with all of my business stuff. Pen Pal, ProPage, ProDraw, Access, and a few others work just fine with the new software. Platinum Scribble does not work. I have found that most games and things that can be run by clicking its icon run o.k. Most all of the copy protected stuff does not work. I have been really happy with the compatability so far. The 2.0 is pretty steady for the most part. I think the final version which is due in a few months should be very nice. Thanks! Jamie

Jamie- What kind of business software are you running on your 3000? Tim

Tim, I use PenPal for database and other things. It really does a good job. I have ProPage, Platinum Scribble, diskmaster utilities and a few others. I edit my documents with Scribble and print them in Postscript. I use Ppage for our flyers and ads. When Ppal has postscript, I may not need the other programs. Access is my Comm program. I use a ton of Music software. Most things seem to work on the 3000 in 2.0 mode. Some of the games do not run. Thanks! Jamie

Jamie- How does ProPage work on the 3000? Is it noticeably faster? It's the one program I use where (much) more speed would be appreciated. I plan to get a 3000, probably in October, when everything settles down. Now, I have 3 A2000s in the office here. They generate invoices via EasyLedgers, and maintain a general business database. (yeah, I know I could do all this "wondrous" computing with a PC clone, but I conived to get some Amigas in here…) Tim

Tim, Propage is twice as fast or greater on the 3000. I have a 2000 at work and the 3000 at home. I am happy to see someone using Amigas instead of the clones in the office 🙂 The 3000 really show its speed when you have a 500 or 2000 running the same program. The speed really shows up. Thanks! Jamie

Jamie- Thanks for the feedback. ProPage has always seemed more sluggish to me than most other Amiga productivity software I've used. Maybe it's partially because of all the slower chip RAM it uses. For instance, the menues drop down with a slight hesitation, etc. Other programs are real fast in this regard. Anyway, glad to hear it runs faster on the 3000. Tim

Keep in touch, I'd like to hear your thoughts on the 3000 when you get it.

Hey Brad, I am not sure of what Ppal 2.0 will have. I have heard that it will be a killer! Only time will tell! Thanks! Jamie
