#Student Version of ACAD
9 messages in this thread
Wayne, in a previous message I read that a student can obtain AutoCAD for
$150. Can you provide and details? I talked to my AutoCAD sales person,
he said the cost is $695.
Thanks for your help.
Bob.
Bob,
Addison-Wesley has a student version of R10 for $155. The R11 student
version (with hardware lock) costs $695, and is usually purchased through
school bookstores or your local friendly AER.
Shoe
Terence,
Do you know the student price on r12? PAT
Pat,
To my knowledge, the current release is never available in a student
version. Wait 'til R13 hits the shelves.

Quick clarifications:
R10 Student version = Addison Wesley = bookstores
R11 (locked) = Autodesk = AER

Wayne,
Bookstores can also make arrangements with Adesk to sell R11 locked
version. Ours is doing just that and has sold several copies.
Shoe
Robert,
The 150 dollar version is only at college book stores and it is a bundled
packet with learning guide and software from Addison-Wesley publishers as
Terence stated. The AERs usually do not deal this "book store" product from
what I have come to learn. It is the full version and a real deal. No
school has a reason now to use anything else but Adesk products now.<G>

Almost Pat but you don't quite get the cigar yet. Please note everyone
that this is just what it says a STUDENT version. It is NOT available to
ANY labs or other use than STUDENTS. AND they don't want it because it has
NO upgrade path. When the school buys R10 at their education price and
includes their upgrade cost, they pay LESS.
Everything else is right on though. This IS a deal and no STUDENT should
be without one.

Only the poverty-strickened student that's without 150 bucks!
