#A3000 Memory?

.."Now that I've got my 3000 all RAM'd up…"…
Does that mean you've come across a source for 1×4 static-col ZIPs? If so,
would you mind sharing your source? I can't find them!!

Chris, no.. only 256kx4's… 4 meg fast and 2 meg chip is enough for me to
operate normally… until I get my hands on those elusive 1×4 scrams.
(grin)
Khalid.
I too was looking for 1X4 Static column ram chips but couldn't locate any.
I settled on 256X4 static column chips, I only wanted 4 meg of fast and 2
of chip anyway. I will probably see the day when I wish I had waited to
find the 1X4 chips…
Yeah, I'm getting a little tired of waiting for the 1×4's to show up. I've
got a distributor who says the first pieces should be available within the
next week or so. If they don't show (or if the price is anything like I
think it's going to be…) I may be forced to go 256. Oh, the price of
being a pioneer… 😉

Chris,
Just so no one thinks there aren't any 1×4's out there… I've been
quoted prices between $44 and $70/ea. on 1×4's. I have not had a customer
go for any yet so I don't have any "real life" experience to relate, but, I
just wanted to say that as far as I know, they are out there.
Er, those are dealer prices…

John,
Are those 1×4 static-column ZIPs? I've found page-mode DRAMs, but so
far I've been holding out for the ZIPs. If you can get "the real thing",
please leave me Email – I may be your first customer!

I found some 1X4 zips but they were page not column mode. Are your
suppliers Page mode?
Dan,
No… not unless they are misunderstanding what I am asking for. I am
specifically asking for 80ns., 1×4 Static Column, ZIP package chips. I
guess I'm just going to have to order some to find out. 🙂

John,
Yes, ordering is the foolproof way to do it. I wish I had a nickel for
every time 'Static column' was mistaken for 'static ram', and for every
time 'ZIP' was mistaken for 'SIPP'. No matter how many times, no matter how
carfully I say it, and no matter how many times I say "Static column DRAMS,
not Static RAMs, and ZIP, not SIPP", they hear what they are expecting to
hear from their clonevendors.
