Gary; The 4096×4096 file that I am trying to save is a GIF file, so it is
only an 8 bit color depth and I am using a plain white background. The
3072×3072 file that I did manage to save was less than 100k in size. The
computer I am using has 16Mb Ram and near 90 Mb free hard disk space, all
on the same partition. I Know that I am swapping, though I didn't make a
note of how much. I'm going to try it with save-last-image parameter off.
