I happen to be a C programmer and a Novell Network Administrator
and did the "9 to 5" ( you see I have a wife and 2 childern) but I drove me
crazy. I needed something I could call my own, besides a paycheck.

Kevin,
that's why I got the 3000, because I too need something to call my own.
The difference is, I don't need to make it a full-time business. I'm
relatively happy programming COBOL by day and clicking my way through
Imagine by night. Having done some DTP for 6 months, it seems to me that
whatever you do for a living, the fun gets killed after a while. Since
computer graphics is so important to me, I don't want to take the chance of
seeing it turn into a dreary experience. I don't know what could replace
it. So I'm playing it safe and sticking to it as a hobby only. (Well, maybe
a sideline if people start beating my door down B^D )

Very well put! I sorry if I offend you but I've done COBAL programming
in the past…let's just say it was not my cup of tea… 😎 … Seriously
though, I can respect that. Many times it is good to not make a hobby your
work it can ruin it.
