I think the CAD visualization thing is ok. It breaks into several markets: Product design, Scientific visualization and presentations Product design is where you design a new bottle for floor wax, etc. S.Vis is a real complex compute problem, not for the lay person or small budget production shop. Presentations will be a BIG growth industry. As Michael Gerard mentioned, the PR depts at the corporations need to spend their bucks. Generally they will hire free-lancers to take on projects, especially one that requires a bunch of capital equipment (like a MM w/computer, video, etc.) The corporate types are so tired of the basic 2d bar/pie charts now that 3D stuff is needed to keep them partly awake. Using a MM or an interactive presentation for justifying a project to the BoardOfDirectors/Shareholders, or just as a sales tool could be a big market. There is a growing market of overhead projector addons for displaying computer data that aims directly at this type of presentation (as well as the Harvard Graphics stuff). Getting friendly with your PR/art dept folks at local corporations could be a good way to drum up some business. I believe there were some old msgs in the MultiMedia forum about these markets.
