Coast to Coast makes a product called Amiga Action Replay II. Has anyone used this device? I know it can grab sound files etc. but what else is it typically used for. I don't have any use for assembly programming info. Is it possible that a game disk can be put on my hard drive some how? Thanx for any help, Paul –pt–not seattle– 😉

Paul, I had a Action Replay in the old days of C= 64. The only use it had in those days was to freeze the software in memory at any point and save to diskette. But the Amiga Action Replay has a few more gadgets than that, heres a list :- Infinite Life/Trainer Mode, Sprite Editor, Virus Detector, Slow Motion Mode, Restart Program, Picture Editor, Music Sound Tracker, Disk Monitor, in all it has about thirty functions. And yes you are able to copy software to the hard disk. The main user of the Action Replay I would say is game players. P.S Please don't forget about the Copyright Law. Thanx for the info. I like the idea of slowing games down to 20% speed. I might try one or two games again! I sure wish Pong was out for the Amiga, that's more my speed 🙂 Thanx again, Paul –pt–not seattle– 😉

Pong WAS available in a package called Golden Oldies along with several other early computer programs… And believe me, it was just like the original. Black & white and ugly as heck 🙂

PONG was suppose to be ugly (and black and white) wasn't it. My only recollection of it was on a machine at the student union at the U of Washington in the early seventies. Never did try the Golden Oldies version, although I remember considering it when it was available. —Mike

Maybe we should ask Nolan Bushnell (sp) for an updated version of Pong. Since he wrote the original, and now works for CBM, perhaps he is working on a CDTV version 8^) John (in beautiful downtown Walla Walla) – via Whap!

Gee, Wonder if he can fit it on the CD? Gotta pack all them bits in tight, you know.
