#V1.01 update
14 messages in this thread
SB4 V1.01 is now mastered. I don't know if the marketing guys are planning
to tell people, or to charge for the update – that's not my province.
regardless, I'd recommend you to get hold of the new version. Please give
messers Fedex & Co a few days to get the disks out to the remote corners of
the earth (i.e. that little renegade colony called the US :-)) before you
hassle people for a copy. It should be shipping in boxes within a week or
two.
Tim
Tim,
Can we request the upgradres here on CI$ ?

Not a clue, sorry. Hopefully one of the US sales guys can comment…
Tim
Steve,
No request needed. Version 1.01 will automatically be sent to all
registered SBPro4 users.

I got the impression Steve was still awaiting his upgrade from Pro to 4,
not from 4 to 4.01… (could be wrong 🙂
Tim
To request the upgrade from Pro2/3 to Pro4, he needs to call Customer
Service at (214)929-4888, ext.444. $149 from Pro3 to Pro4.

Tim,
No, I have 4.0. I was asking about 4.0 to 4.01. Thanx for your concern
though!

Good to hear. Thanks.

For minor upgrades and bug-squashes I always liked the idea of writing a
program that modified/editted/corrected the code in the original program.
That way it is of no use to anyone who hasn't got the original, and those
who have it can download a relatively small updating program from your
libraries here.
Wouldn't that be nice?
. . . . . JimDoc
Actually, although we don't specifically do that, we _do_ have a system
whereby an "update" product us useless to anyone that doesn't have a
previously installed original.
You will be pleased to know that the 1.01 release is actually smaller than
the orignal (499K vs. 530K)! The changes are probably far too numerous to
make a patch program viable for this release, also.
Tim.
I sent for my upgrade on May 23 and paid the regular upgrade price. I
didn't have a registration card in my original package, so after chatting
with you here, I was asked to mark it for the attention of whoever replied
to my query here. I did so, and haven't heard a word back since.

Since I'm in a completely different country, I can't really help you, other
than to suggest you email the US folks on 76702,774, or give them a call at
(214) 929 4888. There is a toll-free number, but sorry I don't know it. You
probably spoke to either Michael or Duke before.
Tim
Michael,
When we shipped the upgrades, we kept half of the registration card. No
need to worry.
