#Amiga programmers wanted

Dynamix is looking for talented Amiga programmers, to help push the
envelope in Amiga based interactive entertainment. You may remember us for
"Arctic Fox", "A10 Tank Killer", and/or "Stellar 7". We'd like to expand
and improve our participation in the Amiga market, but we need more help to

Any chance of seeing a rebirth of Arctic Fox? I am positive that game would
have a fair bit of potential. If it were made to run on faster Amigas, with
possibly a few minor enhancements. I would love to play it again on my
3000, and would buy it the day it came out. Anyone else feel the same way,
or am I just trying to get back some good memories?

I feel that way – best game I've ever played on the Amiga, bar none. Next
is StarGlider II… and I feel that these two have no peers anywhere near.
I have the 1.0 and 1.2 versions of ArcticFox… I would pay quite a bit for
a 1.3 or 2.0 version of the game. (You see, I do have faith that 2.0 will
come out before I retire)
I concur, an upgrade to ArcticFox would be nice.

Speaking of rocks and old men, I've had an itch to take a drive to see and
seek fossils. It may be an extended day dream, but it keeps me going.
I've thought of heading west to the Badlands, or the middle-middle west, or
… I've picked up a copy of Rocks & Minerals magazine, but I hesitate to
buy fossils sight unseen. Any experiences with buying fossils, mail order
or otherwise?
Best person to talk to about this is Michael Sternberg (he shows up
in the section 6 of vendor fairly often). He's a "fossil freak", if
you'll allow me. :^)
Me, I live within ten miles of a location where Tyrannosaurs and
Stegosaurs and etc can (and have been) dug out; I can collect fossils
that have turned hollow, and are filled with beautiful spears of
apatite crystals, a golden yellow mineral. So I don't buy them, in
general… also, my particular "niche" of the mineral hobby is to
collect natural crystal forms of minerals; nature has provided some
of the most beautiful geometric and color combinations I've ever seen
in minerals.
My collection is strictly done for beauty. I don't lable the minerals
(though I know what they are, I really don't use the knowledge except
to make me better at finding them) and I certainly don't use them for
any iditotic purposes like "charms" or any of this new-age dromedary
feces.
If you want to know some places to collect, head for a bookstore and
see if you can locate a copy of "Earth Treasures" by Allan W. Eckert.
It's a four volume set, covering every county in every state in the
continental US – sites are clearly marked and it's a very easy
book/set to use. ISBN numbers are:
v1 – 0-06-096101-5
v2 – 0-06-096131-7
v3 – 0-06-096177-5
v4 – 0-06-096178-3
v1=ne quadrant, v2=se quad, v3=nw quad, v4=sw quad.

Me Too! I remember the good old days… cruising across the Artic Tundra
lulled almost asleep by the drone of the motors… when suddenly that
alarm would go off! Banged my knees on the desk plenty!
I bought Stellar 7 because of the similarities to Artic Fox, but was
disappointed. Stellar 7 is more of a shoot em up, where Artic Fox was
stealth and cunning! Bring it back!
Artic fox was one of the first games I bought when I had my 500. I
really enjoyed it then and would buy it again if it was upgraded (better
graphics, faster scrolls ect).

Jeff,
I hope you guys are considering work on CDTV. It's a small step
programming wise and it seems like many Dynamix programs would be
particularly well suited to CDTV.
