I have tried and tried but have been unsuccessful at downloading files to my A500(int floppy,512Kexpansion,AmigaTerm[yuk!] software, no HD,1200 baud modem). I am relatively new to the telecommunications scene, and I am very anxious to start enjoying the vast array of down-loadable goodies(esp. of a medical nature, I am studying medicine). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jeff, The documentation for the AmigaTerm software package is wrong. In order to be able to download successfully, you need to configure your system to 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit. (8N1). Compuserve has a Practice area that allows you to "play around" with the system software without connect charges. It might be a good idea for you to use this area to try your downloading until you get it to work well. Just use the command "GO PRACTICE" at any Compuserve prompt. Hope this helps…. …BobR
