I don't normally complain too much but I'm finding the Amiga Arts
section increasingly harder to get around on. First let me state that I
find it a very smart move on the part of Black Belt and fans to upload alot
of HAME images. I have seen and used HAME a number of times and I feel it's
a wonderful display device, it just happens that it's not what I would
choose to use at this time, which brings me to my problem…
It seems that in alot of sections I have to wade through a ton of HAME
pictures to find the ones that operate on Amigas without HAME. I use 24 bit
images alot and Hi-res images too, and I am sure that the HAME users would
not like to look through all those files to find HAME as I do theirs. We
need to keep these images seperate. I enjoy browsing through the files but
there are so many HAME images I lose interest. OK! Iam off my

I'm not sure I totally understand your problem. The HAME pictures are
segregated into their own library (Lib 10). All pictures that require the
HAME are clearly labeled as such in the file descriptions. Now its true
that the HAME pics are also "mixed in" with other files in the New Uploads
section, but that is done as a convenience for our users. Now we can't
please everyone all the time, but why should we discriminate against one
set of files in the New Uploads because some folks may not wish to see
them? For example, I may not be at all interested in DMCS/Sonix scores
(which are in Lib 5) and therefore don't want to have them included in the
New Uploads section. Is it reasonable that I ask that they be excluded?
Others may (and definitely are) interested in seeing them in the New
Uploads.
I'm not really sure what you are asking us to do? We really do try to
meet the needs of all of our users here.

I'm sorry I don't know what got into me…I want to apologize to all
those that had to reply to my snap message. I think I'm going crazy… 8^)
…. You guys really are doing a great job… We are working on a project
now that will probably be public at SIGGRAPH and it's a little stressful
here right now.

when the time comes, please let us know about your Siggraph exhibit! Not
everyone is going to Las Vegas, or even worse — is going, but later in the
year. Like me, for example. Drat.

There will be no exhibit there but if you ask the right question to
the right group of people you would be in for a BIG surprise. Let me say
that the question will be asked ( many times ) and to the right people and
they will get the surprise…if I seem confusing and vague it's because I'm
trying to be confusing and vague. There will be no formal big announcment
with names and details until later this year. We are all jumping up and
down here and we can't wait to say something yet the wise move is to wait
for pen to hit paper.

Kevin, Blackbelt provides a program called convert that will allow you to
show HAM-E images on the toaster or any other device that works with 24 bit
iff or even use The art department to show it in amiga ham -ds

Really !?! That sounds great if anyone would like to make use of all
the images up here it's me. So tell me how would one aquire such a program?

You can find the latest version of convert in the Amigavendor forum in the
Black Belt Systems LIB (i think it's 6) just do a search on the word
"convert" and you should find it.
