Karl, in the back of AmigaWorld you'll find a 2-page spread full of tiny ads, one of which is from a video production house advertising several videos: L.A. Siggraph, the making of Todd Rundtgren's music video, and "Uhhh… excuse me, Todd?", a rebuttal of Todd's complaints re: Amiga bugs by some well-known Amiga personalities. The only one I have is the Siggraph tape. It's a 2-hour on-location documentary featuring demos of: -the Disney Animation Studio by Reichart Von Wolfshield, one of the program's creators. This demo is very fast-paced and covers a lot of ground in 15 minutes! The guy is very convincing; remember, though, that the demos show one-bitplane, low-res animation. This explains the speed. -Imagine as demoed by Victor Osaka. The demo is a little unstructured, but Victor shows off a lot of great pics in the process. -"Digital Frankenstein", an outstanding animation that won second prize in the AmigaWorld Animation Video II. -Video Toaster, taken for a spin (pun intended) by a C= rep. This is another good demo, long and full-featured. I finally got to see ChromaFx in action. -UNIX on the A3000 <yawn>. Screenfulls of directory listings showing that all the utilities are in there. Real fun stuff. Things perk up a bit when the C= rep gets pinned by a few comparisons between Apple's and Commodore's versions of Unix. -Steve Segal, who did "Dance of the stumblers" a few years ago, shows how little he's done since and hangs around the Toaster demo, where he points out some of its shortcomings. I was not impressed. Fortunately, there also was the much more talented… -Brad Schenck, showing off real-time quote-unquote 24-bit animation on DCTV. A good example of why DCTV and HAM-E are so important in the Amiga universe. All in all, a good way to spend twenty bucks. Blaq! – via Whap!
