#QBTools + AREXX Prob.
9 messages in this thread
I am having a problem getting the AREXX interface in Quarterback Tools
1.5 to work. When I try and run the Demo rexx program included in the
Release notes file, I get an error saying "Rexx library not found". Since I
have all the Rexx libraruies I could find on CIS loaded into Arexx when I
start it, I am wondering if anyone could help me as to what I am missing.
Thank you,
Blaine

I don't know squat about AREXX, but I do have a question and then
possibly an answer for ya.
Do you have the actual AREXX program? It is a commercial product and
you do need to have the program. The utilities and things that are
available here on CIS will do you no good unless you have AREXX.
C= may or maynot be packaging AREXX with the A3000 (I'm not sure) and
they may then package it with any v2.0 Enhancement Package that will be
released when v2.0 becomes available. But until that point you will need
to buy AREXX before you can use any programs features to use that product.

Roy,
I do have the AREXX program. It works fine with all the other programs I
use it with, spcifically ADPro, but I keep getting the "Rexx Library not
found" error when I try and use it with QBTools. Since I have a very old
edition of AREXX, I thought that by updating all the Libraries I cpuold
find and loading them all before trying to launch QBTools, I would bypass
this error, but I still get it. Thanks for the reply!

Ohhhh! As Roseanne Anna Danna (was that her name?) would say "Never
Mind." 😉
Sorry – it was just a thought. Hope the folks at NH can help.

Blaine,
something I ran across is requiring version 1.15 of ARexx in order to
get some scripts to work. If you are working with an older version, I
highly recommend updating your ARexx.

Brian,
Thanks! I am running version 1.06. I will go out tomorrow and update my
copy to 1.15 or better.
Blaine
Blaine,
You will need to have the Rexxsupport.Library from the release version of
AREXX and you will also need to run rexxmast to start AREXX going. If you
don't have an A 3000 (which ship with AREXX as part of the package) you
will need to acquire the AREXX program from Bill Hawes at Wishful Thinking
Software or wait to see how the 2.0 upgrade deal is structured.

If true, that IS your problem. Move 'em to LIBS:
. . . . . JimDoc
Jim,
They are in LIBS:, I load them into memory with the LoadLib and rxlib
commands. I think my problem is that I am running an old version of AREXX,(
1.06). I have been advised that I need 1.15 or better to run certain
scripts. I tried to go out and get it today, but my local Amiga dealer(and
he's not so local, I have to drive about 40 miles to get to him) was sold
out. Oh well, I will wait to next week or take the trip into Philly or NYC
to get it. Thanks for the reply!
