I'm surprised no one is talking about the DevCon mailing that just
came out. One thing that might have been overlooked was that there was a
price listed for the A2410 Lowell board, $781.
So who here is going to DevCon this September?
I'll be there in spirit…physically…I'll either be a few blocks,
or a few miles away.

Sure…my comment about being a few miles or blocks away simply
meant that I'll either be at home (a few miles) or work (a few blocks). I
won't be able to attend DevCon itself…but I'm sure I'll get together with
some of the folks anyway.

Nope, won't make DevCon, other commitments.
I think CompuServe will be well represented at DevCon. I know I'll be
there.
I'm currently planning on attending the Denver Devcon. Will you be
attending?
I'll be there. I bought the airline tickets back in February cause
the prices were so low. I saved about $50, but then again, considering how
much this whole thing will cost, $50 seems pretty minimal.

Not sure, Ethan. I had made plans to go, but family matters make it seem a
bit uncertain at the moment.
As for the mailing, I also noted that I have to put a new ROM in my 2630
board before I can use the 2.04 ROMS. Always seems to require SOMEthing
more!
Let's just hope Marc Barrett (who apparently IS a developer) isn't
going. Well, actually, it would be interesting to meet him. 😎

registration received. 8)

I still have hopes, but it depends on how things are going with my family.
I'm just not sure I can leave at that time.

Richard has been having a rather hard time lately – congestive heart
failure. This can be treated with several medications, and the doctor
seems to feel that he will be OK once he gets the medication adjusted. It's
been a bit rugged for the past couple of weeks, but he feels much better
yesterday and today. I'm quite hesitant about signing up to be gone for a
week, though, under these circumstances. There isn't anyone around to help
out if I am gone this time.

I can appreciate your present situation. My father has had repeated
bouts of congestive heart failure going back at least 15 years. I
also understand the need to get the medication adjusted. It can take
awhile for the situation to regain its balance.
Thanks, Jeff. It is encouraging to know that he has been able to get
things adjusted for so many years. I've been terribly concerned about this
problem. I do hope it will right itself so that I can go to the meeting,
but if not – there'll be another one next year.

Congestive heart failure merits a great deal of concern and watching of the
situation. One's activities might well be restricted, but you learn to
adapt. My father was able to keep working at a full time job until
disabled by a stroke two years ago (he's been recovering gradually, but is
still not up to working full time, and had intended to retire around now
anyway). From what you've said in the past, I know your husband has not
had an easy time of it, but the situation can stabilize and improve.
Putting things in perspective, though, I wouldn't really worry about
Devcon. If he's healthy enough to allow you to go, fine. If not, as you
said, there's another one next year.
My thoughts are with you, and hope your husband's health improves soon.

I noticed that. Not that I'm rushing out to buy one right now. 🙂 And I
am most definately going to DevCon in September. I can't wait! 🙂
