BBS Crash
6 messages in this thread
Our BBS suffered a crash this evening; we lost the entire message base as a
result – over 2000 messages. :^(
We also lost all the user records – so, if you call, you'll have to re-log
in and setup a new account.
There were no problems with the library, so we have all the files (thank
goodness for that!)
This is *very* unfortunate, however, it was due to happen soon
"on-purpose", because as soon as 2.0 comes out in ROM (we think only a few
weeks away!) we're changing to a new BBS system, and that would have nuked
everything but the files, which we would move.
Anyway, that's the situation.

Hi Ben
Just curious as to what BBS software you are changing to. I run a BBS
in Southern CA. for musicians on an Amiga 2000 and really like the software
I am now using. It's called DLG (formally Dialog) Professional and it's
got some amazing features. You owe it to yourself to check this software
out before you firm up your decision.
Good luck with the 'new' board 🙂

We're looking at Steve Tibbet's BBX.

Could you tell me how to get info on Steve Tibbet's BBX? I'm curious
about features.
best thing I can say is talk to Steve – I think he is currently active on
portal.
BBX is a nice board, that's for sure. Steve's done a good job with it.
However, you might be interested in knowing that DLG is readying a module
that will allow you to run an online store. I believe they are looking for
beta testers now.
Good luck with whatever you decide on.
