Have you any explanation of why the 040 runs faster in the 2000?
The '040 in the 3000 is made by a different company. In addition the 2000
version accesses memory right on the card (up to 32 MEG!) and does not have
to go through the amiga bus. Regards,ds

I presume the 2000 version is the RCS Fusion Forty (?) Which is the 3000
version?

Jim the 2000 version is the RCS Unfortunately I am not allowed at this time
to say moe about the 3000 version made by a different company. Regards,ds

Yeah, I got the same advert from RCS in the mail. I think it should be
pointed out that the speed numbers posted are NOT impartial 3rd party
determinations, but are quotations from the manufacturer of the product
claiming to have the greater speed in the data cited.

Jim, We were able to duplicate the findings of RCS. But of course time will
tell when the other board is actually in production how it performs. -ds

BTW, who's "we"? I know I've seen YOUR name on here numerous times, in
helpful notes, but I don't know with whom you are affiliated.

Daniel,
Wait a minute. The 68040 25mhz board was faster in test 2 on the A2000
than on the A3000??!? How can that be? Especially 2 min 45 sec worth.

-Via Whap!
The '040 on the 3000 has to go through the amiga bus to get access to
memory while the 2000 version accesses memory directly on the card itself.

Were the RAM chips equally fast on both '040 systems? Was Static-Column and
Burst enabled on the A3000?
Christopher, YES
Bruce the 3000 version tested is also made by a different company -ds
